Position Purpose

Works within UMPR and digital marketing team to develop/implement/produce assigned web, social media and video marketing projects or campaigns efficiently and to high creative, quality and technical standards. Through strong collaboration with campus partners, works to continuously evaluate and improve web, social and video content ensuring the optimal messaging and content is always in place. Safeguards brand identity of Belmont University in all digital media channels.

Understand Belmont’s marketing objectives and work collaboratively with team members to meet institutional goals.

Job Function

Works with digital marketing team to ensure the university maintains a strategic and current presence on the web and social media. Works to continually update content including copy, design, and images available through the University Photographer.

Work closely with UMPR team to design and implement web, social and video campaigns/projects that creatively and effectively support UMPR’s efforts to advance the strategic priorities of the University. This includes, but is not limited to, projects or content development related to flagship University websites, secondary websites, and blogs; social media platforms; shooting, recording and editing video or other broadcast mediums; digital components of broader marketing campaigns; etc.

Job Function

As necessary, consult with campus partners on matters related to web/social/video marketing strategy and content. Provide CMS training to campus partners as requested. Respond in a timely manner to inquiries, suggestions and problems sent by users.

Aid in regular monitoring of social media sites for positive and/or negative content and follow response matrix to handle appropriately.

Job Function

Serve on Social Media Administration Team (SMAT ) and Web Administration Team (WAT) to help develop web/social marketing best-practices, policies and procedures for review and approval by the Strategic Marketing Team and Senior Leadership.

As requested, contribute to and participate in regular meetings of website and social media user teams and Boulevard Team to share best practices/policies, optimize communication and ensure collaboration between UMPR and campus partners.

Job Function

Work to meet established production schedules and deadlines as assigned by the Assistant Director of University Marketing, Marketing Coordinator and Web and Digital Media Manager. Communicate with internal clients on job status as necessary.

Serve as a website administrator.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of and experience with various content management systems. Experience with Hannon Hill and Wordpress preferred.

Knowledge of and experience with various social media platforms from administrative standpoint.

Knowledge of and experience with shooting and editing high-definition video.

Knowledge of and experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, XML, Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite and designing and coding responsive websites required. Experience with HTML 5, MySQL, CSS 3, and designing responsive e-mails.

Must understand the value of teamwork and feel comfortable working within a team environment. Able to collaborate with other members of the digital marketing team and effectively communicate ideas.

Self-driven, proactive and a team player.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Able to problem solve and find multiple solutions, especially under narrow parameters or strict budget restraints.

Ability to objectively view and manage/maintain relationships with vendor partners.

Successfully manages time, workflow and schedule in order to meet deadlines.

Ability and flexibility to work additional hours as necessary to complete a project according to timeline.

Keen attention to detail.

Experience

Minimum 3+ years working experience with web and social media; experience working in video shooting and editing preferred.

Experience managing high-volume, high-detail projects.

Education

Bachelor’s or associates degree in communications, marketing, web or new media-related field, or applicable experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.
