Position Purpose

Assist the School of Music Production/ Facilities Manager with production and facilities maintenance, including compliance with OSHA workplace standards and regulations.

Work collaboratively with Theatre and Dance Department as Production Manager to support Musical Theatre, Opera, and other collaborative stage productions between the School of Music and Department of Theatre/Dance in the college.

Collaborate with technical and production staff in CVPA to oversee health and safety compliance in all college performance/stage spaces.

Serve as stage manager in CVPA as needed, overseeing equipment movement and security, with specific focus on compliance with all government regulatory entities.

Act as liaison between students, faculty, staff and events for college wide productions as needed.

Maintain the inventory and equipment list in the School of Music, updating and evaluating annually.

Job Function

Assist the School of Music Production/Facilities Manager and other CVPA personnel as needed in serving CVPA Summer Camps and outside summer groups in MPAC.

Job Function

Advance events with faculty members, students, and outside clients, as directed by the appropriate CVPA personnel.

Job Function

Contact and contract professional services, including sound and lighting installation, equipment rentals, etc., as directed by appropriate CVPA personnel.

Job Function

Provide direction and supervision of CVPA production/facilities crew, in addition to providing educational, equipment, and budgetary support for personnel, as directed by appropriate CVPA personnel.

Job Function

Generally oversee jobs assigned by the Associate Director of the School of Music and the School of Music Production/Facilities Manager.

POSTING TEXT

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess extensive knowledge in one of the following areas with familiarity of the remaining areas: sound, lighting, staging, and video equipment.

Must possess a working understanding of OSHA, EPA, Fire Marshall, and Arts accreditation Health and Safety Standards and be able to provide some oversight to assure CVPA’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Must have highly developed interpersonal skills, be a team player, and possess ability to work well at all levels.

Effective organizational and customer service skills, management and supervisory skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to handle efficiently multiple projects.

Experience

Experience in live performance and production management and facilities management.

Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Requires frequent standing, walking and sitting. Repetitious finger and wrist movement, and hearing acuity. Occasionally requires climbing, crawling, reaching high and low, stooping and lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing loads up to 50 lbs. Constantly requires speaking clearly, seeing both near, far and depth perception with color vision.

Additional Information

This position is supervised by the Associate Director of the School of Music.
