Position Purpose

The JumpStart Trainer reports to the Director, Assistant Director, and Fitness and Wellness Programming Graduate Assistants and is responsible for safely and effectively training JumpStart clients who are part of the Belmont Community and facilitating a great fitness environment

Ensure that accurate training statistics are maintained (Client session log sheet, client exercise folder, personal training agreement).

Implement JumpStart fitness programs.

Job Function

Educate clients on the proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment.

Promote safe technique and form when weight training.

Job Function

Provided safe spotting techniques for clients.

Job Function

Develop a positive community within the trainer and the client

Uphold fitness area policies and conduct them safely and effectively

Job Function

Promote a healthy image of moderation within the Department of Fitness and

Attend Reunions, CEUs, trainings and other developmental programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent oral communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests
Excellent customer interaction skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests
Ability to work outside conventional work hours (e.g. weekends, late nights and some holidays)
Skills in maintaining and managing records and data keeping

Experience
Education

Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift 45 lbs
• As a personal trainer you are expected to be a model for living a healthy lifestyle
