Position Purpose

The Beaman Trainer reports to the Director, Assistant Directors and the Fitness Graduate Assistant and is responsible for safely and effectively training personal training clients who are part the Belmont Community, facilitating a great fitness environment and providing services to clients that educate, promote and support a healthy active lifestyle and help them reach their personal fitness goals

Job Functions

• Ensure that accurate training statistics are maintained (Client Session Log Sheet, Client Exercise Folder, Personal Training Agreement), logging sessions into Fusion

Job Function

• Educate clients on the proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment

Job Function

• Promote safe technique and form when weight training

Job Function

• Provided safe spotting techniques for clients

Job Function

• Develop a positive community within the trainer and the client

Job Function

• Uphold fitness area policies and conduct them safely and effectively

Job Function

• Attend Reunions, CEUs, trainings and other developmental programs

Job Function

• Promote a healthy image of moderation within the Department of Fitness and Recreation

POSTING TEXT

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have a Bachelor degree

Certification in AED, CPR, and First Aid.

Must possess a Personal Training certification from an NCCA accredited organization.

Must keep certifications current and maintain memberships and certifications in professional organization.

Ability to work outside conventional work hours (e.g. weekends, late nights, some holidays).

Must have an advanced knowledge of fitness programming including: form, client interaction and exercise prescription

Skills in maintaining and managing records and data keeping

Must possess the ability to design and implement exercise prescription from within the scope of appropriate exercise prescription guidelines as stated by their certifying organization.

Excellent oral communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests

Excellent customer interaction skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests

Ability to effectively administer pre and post physical fitness assessments for clients

Experience

• Must have a Bachelor Degree
• Certification in AED, CPR and First Aid
• Must possess a personal training certification from a NCCA accredited organization

• Must be able to lift 45 lbs
• As a personal trainer you are expected to be a model for living a healthy lifestyle
