Position Purpose

PENCIL works to bridge the gap between volunteers’ generosity and skills and the support MNPS needs to help students grow. PENCIL staff research, recruit, link and maintain the relationships between the community and schools to ensure a positive experience for all students and volunteers involved.

The Marketing Intern is responsible for identifying potential Partner, student and volunteer stories and capturing them film and in writing to help promote PENCIL’s work. The Intern will be responsible for scheduling interviews, shooting and editing footage, preparing written content to accompany the footage and delivering to the Marketing Coordinator for promotion.

Job Function

Intern responsibilities include all tasks related to the cultivation of promotional materials on behalf of PENCIL. The goal of this position is to help spread the word and raise awareness about the PENCIL related stories that are actively taking place throughout MNPS schools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with and interest in storytelling is a must. Video editing / Adobe Suites experience is a plus. Creative writing skills preferred.

Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.

This is an off-campus position and applicants MUST have Federal Work Study and reliable means of transportation.
