Position Purpose

Provide local and international outreach involvement, leadership and training opportunities for Belmont students.

Develop, direct, coordinate and implement outreach and missions programming aimed at student participation.

Collaborate across campus to increase discipline-specific, staff-led and faculty-led international missions programs.

Job Function

Direct, plan, and implement formation activities for students related to missions and outreach programming.

Contribute and/or lead to other University Ministry programming as appropriate
o Play contributing role to Chapel, SLA training, Chaplain-on-Call, etc
o Be available for students seeking pastoral care
o Be available for other pastoral responsibilities as needed
o Represent University Ministries in campus-wide and external events as needed

Ability to forge positive relationships with students, local ministries, churches, pastors and community leaders while balancing the administrative tasks of the position.

Ability to work irregular hours, specifically evening and weekends, as well as be available to travel out of town for extended periods of time.

Must be committed to students’ spiritual development.

Knowledge of regulations regarding student privacy.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications.

Good presentation skills.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.


2-3 years professional experience in campus ministry. Experience leading and participating in local/urban outreach strongly desired. Experience leading and participating in international missions and outreach desired.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.
