Position Purpose

This position is responsible for marketing the programs and successes of Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as specific publicity and marketing assignments.

Job Functions

Job Function

Working with local print media assisting with press releases and updating press lists/distribution.
Assist program staff with “Big of the Month” write ups and selection.
Taking photographs at events and match activities for media use.

Job Function

Maintain and share tear sheet inventory of published articles and web link mentions of BBBSMT.
Maintain and prepare press/media kits for Big Brothers Big Sisters agency events as well as events related to agency fund-raisers/presentations.
Learning and utilizing Big Brothers Big Sisters data systems.

Job Function

Participating in limited general office duties, including data entry, copying, faxing, filing, and mailing.
May assist with other special events as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate must have superior written communication skills, an attention to detail, be able to manage multiple activities, provide consistent follow-up, and be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Candidate must also be dedicated to Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission serving children with a mentor.

Experience

Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, superior written and verbal communications skills, and strong interpersonal skills are required. Graphic design skills a plus, familiarity with social media.

Education

Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.

Public Relations and Business/Marketing majors preferred; other majors with relevant interests and background will be considered.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This is an off-campus position and applicants MUST have Federal Work Study and reliable means of transportation.
