Position Purpose

Provides support in recruiting students to grow the Teacher Residency Program to full capacity. Directly supports the Metro Nashville Urban Teacher Residency (MNUTR) Managing Director, faculty and staff in the Department of Education in the area of Residency Program student recruitment.

Recruitment and Enrollment:
• Manages recruitment efforts for Metro
Nashville Urban Teaching Residency (MNUTR) prospects and applicants.
• Develop recruitment targets for the MNUTR that align with Metro Nashville School District’s human capital needs.
• Design and implement recruitment strategies that attract high-quality candidates from diverse backgrounds to the residency program.
• Distributes monthly notifications of current MNUTR applicants to the Education and CLASS administrators.
• Maintains current recruitment letters and promotional materials for the MNUTR.
• Manages recruitment efforts for deposit-not-paid applicants.
• Tracks marketing efforts with Admission in cooperation with the CLASS Recruitment Coordinator and the Admissions Coordinator for Graduate CLASS. Monitors on-going contact with student prospects in the MNUTR program.
• Attends graduate Enrollment Services and CLASS Graduate Council meetings.
• Monitors and tracks enrollment in the MNUTR.

Job Function

Public Relations:
• Manage marketing, public relations and social media efforts including website management and promotions.
• Oversees MNUTR web presences. Solicits, edits and posts information for the MNUTR.
• Facilitates development of all new brochures and materials for the MNUTR.
• Identify and establish a presence at promising events, organizations, and publications.

Job Function

Identify and cultivate strong referral sources for candidates and nominators.
Provide high-touch, personal engagement and support to high potential prospective candidates.

Work with potential applicants to assist in the application. Work with accepted candidates on the financial aid process.

Job Function

Network with professors, key members of local organizations and community leaders to promote residency program.

Plan visits and information sessions to educate others about residency program.
Coordinate logistics for all MNUTR special events.

Job Function

Provides support for Commencement, Hooding, and other occasional activities and events that may occur on evenings and weekends.

Must be able to plan visits and information sessions to educate others about the residency program, provide high-touch, personal engagement and support to high potential prospective candidates, and work with potential applicants to assist them in the application and financial aid processes.

Must be able to provide coordination and logistics for all MNUTR special events.

Must exhibit proficient use of a PC with demonstrated working knowledge of the following computer software applications: Microsoft Word (using mail merge, etc.), Excel (interpreting data sheets, developing reports, etc.), and PowerPoint.

Must be able to learn and use administrative software programs (e.g., SCT Banner, Recruit).

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills (especially for public presentations), ability to interact well with diverse populations, and a customer-service based approach to recruiting required.

Experience

[4+ years progressively responsible administrative support experience with discretionary decision making required.

Experience in the field of education or human resources preferred.

Experience with SCT Banner or other integrated databases preferred.

Experience in recruiting students in an academic setting is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.

Must be willing to travel to job fairs for purposes of recruitment.
