Position Purpose

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Business at Belmont University, this position provides direction and oversight of recruiting and enrollment for all graduate business programs in The Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business.

Participate in developing and implementing the enrollment strategy for The Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business: oversee recruiting and enrollment management efforts; develop processes to optimize admission yields; manage admissions process; conduct information sessions held for potential MBA and MACC students; develop in-house information sessions to be delivered at local companies; facilitate orientation activities for incoming graduate business students.

Job Function

Participate in developing and communicating enrollment goals and supporting initiatives for graduate business programs: meet with the Dean and directors of specialized masters programs and determine enrollment goals and metrics and new program initiatives for The Massey Graduate School of Business; measure progress against plans and explain variances; maintain and/or update strategic plans based on recognized changes and/or variances; develop marketing/branding strategies based on the above strategic plans; implement and measure performance against plan objectives; develop advertising/promotion plans in line with strategy/branding.

Job Function

Participate with the Dean and appropriate curriculum committees in developing new graduate programs; interact with students, alumni and local firms to asses the local graduate business education market; expand relationships with the alumni of the Massey School, the College of Entertainment and Music Business, the Center for Business Ethics, the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Center for Executive Education to coordinate recruiting events for MBA/MACC students; engage in joint marketing efforts and allocation of faculty and the development of new graduate courses; participate in the scheduling of faculty; support alumni fund raising and coordinate alumni functions with the Alumni Office and the Career Development Center.

Job Function

Conduct market and feasibility analyses in the Nashville business community to determine the labor force skill requirements of industry as well as educational needs perceived by potential applicants . These analyses may include; trends in GMAT requirements and scores as well as firms’ investment in graduate education/reimbursement for professional development.

Requires an understanding of the market and potential applicants for graduate business degree programs.

Knowledge of the academic environment of higher education and processes of successful professional education and training programs is necessary.

Ability to engage with the graduate business demographic, quickly communicate decisions, and direct a communication plan are important.

Ability to analyze information, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and negotiate effectively. Additionally, applicant should possess strong interpersonal and marketing skills, excellent planning/organizational skills, and the ability to resolve problems.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Experience

Experience in customer relationship management, sales and marketing and/or academic product marketing. Demonstrated ability to analyze markets for new graduate business programs and potential applicant needs.

A history of successfully recruiting graduate business students is preferred.

Education

Qualified applicants will possess a master level degree in a recognized field of business.

Certifications such as a CFA, CFP, CPA or PMI are desirable.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying up to 25 lbs., climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception.
