Position Purpose

The intramural official and scorekeeper reports to the Director, Assistant Director and the Intramural Sport Graduate Assistant as well as other Supervisors and is responsible for assisting with different functions of intramural activities including maintaining records, contest results, scoring and officiating various sports

Major Responsibilities of Intramural Official:
• Officiate and enforce rules of the sport

• Manage participants and tone of the sport

• Manage conflict that could arise during competition

Job Function

• Promote sportsmanship among participants and promote a safe atmosphere during the events

• Attend Reunions, CEUs, trainings and other developmental programs

Job Function

Major Responsibilities of Intramural Scorekeeper:
• Record scores, statistics, and information of sport and participants

Job Function

• Manage and maintain the score and/or time of the sport

Job Function

• Support coworkers managing and officiating the sport

Job Function

• Manage the sport participants before the sport has started

Job Function

• Develop Belmont’s intramural community through customer service and putting the needs of the patrons first

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent oral communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests

• Excellent customer interaction skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests

• Ability to multitask in high intensity situations

• Ability to work outside conventional work hours (e.g. weekends, late nights and some holidays)

• Ability to manage and maintain records

• Ability to stay active and keep up with the fast pace environment

Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.
