Broad knowledge of computer science, including expertise in a subject area compatible with undergraduate research.

Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students in a wide variety of courses, including general education, introductory, and advanced courses.

Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.

Ability to carry out independent scholarship of discovery, application, integration, or teaching in computer science.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.


Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses will be viewed favorably but is not required.


Completion of a PhD in computer science or a closely related field by August 1, 2018.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Typical faculty position with sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires waking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.
