Position Purpose

To support instructional needs in the Media Studies Department including video production and post production.

Job Functions

Teach 24 credit hours per year in Audio Video Production, Media Studies, and the BELL Core.

Advise and mentor students in academics, research, and other class-related projects.

Candidates must be familiar with current technology and software as it relates to audio and video acquisition and post production.

Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the field of study.

Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.

Skills and Abilities:

Significant experience with Avid Media Composer, After Effects, Photoshop and Davinci Resolve.

Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.

Skilled in the use of computers and Internet resources.

Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.

Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representative and professionals.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.


Prior university-level teaching and professional experience required.


Terminal degree or progress toward a terminal degree is required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.
